I feel that dogs should explore and have the freedom in nature. They give so much to people and now we are taking away their freedom. I do not agree with this new rule and think that they shoud give their attension to more important things. Dogs that have a aggressive attitude should be considerd, but they are not all the same.

It is absolutely ridiculous to waste money and energy on dog and leash control, effectively banning pets from public and nature whilst criminals are roaming free in our streets in town, mountain, cliff paths etc!

Dogs a social animals and they want to socialize with other dogs. When dogs are on leashes their owners tend to hold them back and constrain them from meeting the approaching dog which is then experience some sort of challenge from the constrained dog and could attack the dog in the leash.

We live in Kleinmond with two yourkie kids that live their time on the beach. This policy needs to be re-look at. And maybe some of the energy needs to be spend on the increase of crime in the area or people racing through towns. That should cause more concern than dogs running a bit freely on the beach.

Dogs are social and (some)energetic animals - and need a place to interact naturally. The Overstrand is breeding a generation of dogs that are being severely mistreated by not being able to occasionally run and interact off lead - never mind the stress it causes their owners to know that they are ill treating their dogs

Dogs are less invasive than humans on the beaches. Sort out the crime on mountains and beaches on humans and sort out the poaching of sea life. The dog issue is really petty. It’s a few irresponsible dog owners that need to learn respect. There is no more respect for others any more.

Dogs are a man's best friend. They protect you and your home. They should be allowed to have a free run area. Dogs are social animals and should be trained and allowed to socialize with other dogs. Do not punish us for a small group that does not understand this. the majority want their dogs to have a run around spot.

I have a trained dog .Bought in Betty'sbay 22 years ago as it has space , beaches and lagoon where my dog can roam around.
I have not heard of a single incident where people were attacked by dog while under supervision of owner. More snake and spider bites than dogs. You animal haters do more damage to the environment than dogs. What about cats catching birds etc?

Human beings and dogs have lived together for at least 10000 years. Dogs provide companionship, security and a role model for unconditional love. I realise that we live in an environmentally sensitive area but dog areas can be managed to minimise harm. Motor cars are also environmentally harmful, but they are accommodated. Imagine the uproar if they banned internal combustion vehicles in the Overstrand...

Dogs also deserve to run free. Its okay to have your dog on leach if you walk him next to the road, but on the beach especially when there is very view people on the beach they can be taken off the leach to run free. Every person knows his of her animal and are responsible enough to know when to keach theif dog and when to let it run free. Overstrand must stop implementing rules just to please some of the people. All of us must have a say on what rules must be implemented and how rules must be apply. You guys did not do a very good job during covid whst makes you think you are entitled to decide when and where my pooch can run free or not. Rather focus on burning issues like cimes that is taking place under your watch.
