Bikes weigh a lot less than cars, SUV's and LDV's. Their impact on any road is significantly less than the mentioned vehicles.

I feel that a Bike must have a lower charge then a car. My wife has her own bike, so if we travel with 2 Bikes, it is rediculous to pay double at tolgates.

I'm against riding motorcycle weighing less than 500kg and being expected to ay the same toll fee as an suv and caravan/trailer weighing a combined 2000-3500 kg. Clearly the impact our vehicles can damage roads is significantly different, then how can we pay the same toll fee?

I will not pay the same fees than vehicles, also not for toll roads so unsafe for bikers. The N17 is a nightmare and very expensive.
Special gates for bikers witb low fees to none.

I'm a biker. Our bikes are so light on the road compared to vehicles. In other countries bikes have dedicated non-pay lanes. Furthermore we hold up cars at the gate because it is cumbersome to take off your gloves, open zips etc

If the tolls are based on vehicle mass and /or potential road wear, how is it that a vehicle that has a mass of 300 kg pays the same toll as a motor car with caravan and a boat with combined mass of 3000kg.
A car has wheel point load of at least 500 kg whilst a bike has at best 200 kg.
Makes no sense and there is no justification for this. Thus has been a contentious matter for at least 15 years and our pleas have fallen on deaf ears and ignored.

I ride a motorcycle as a daily runner. When travelling long distances I have to consider either paying the toll for a safe ride or taking the unpaid route at great risk to myself. Most travelled route is between eMalahleni and Middelburg ±25km, free but extremely dangerous with the trucks and bad road on the R555 or R78+ on the N4... Way too expensive to take often

I do not agree with the tollgate rates that is so hi for motorcycle, a motorcycles weight is +- 15% of a car and uses half the road of cars, it is not fair to pay the same price as a car, trucks and cars do not pay the same amount, how can motorcycles and cars pay the same when it depends on the weight and not only that but four wheels compared to two wheels on a motorcycle.
