Saanich EDPA

This Bylaw shows how the staff have taken control of the entire municipal system not only in Saanich but almost all of Vancouver Island. Planners have isolated the elected officals and staff are creating bylaws and offical community plans that they think are good for everyone but tend to handcuff not only the council but anyone who is planning any improvements. Protection of the sensitive ecological systems has always been the mandate of respectable land owners and developers. Rather than creating road blocks at every step why not work with the land owners and developers to achieve something that respects the natural environment and pride in the community. The economic damage that the current trend for bylaw development is taking will been realized in a few years and the Planners will say "Oh What Has Happened? We Thought We Were Doing The Right Thing". Then they will balme the council for passing the bylaws in the first place. Don't even get me going of the excessive slaries and benifits the municipal employees enjoy.
